I80 HISTORY,
On April 22 2007 at Lou Von Fields in Shorewood IL at 10AM the first pitch was thrown by Shawn Lawlor of the Troy Titans Premier team giving birth to the I80 travel league. On that day Troy would defeat the Oak Forest Blue Demons 15 to 4.The first season the teams were Oak Lawn Westside, Homer Heat, Oak Forest, Whiteford (Joliet), Troy Premier (Shorewood) Troy Elite (Shorewood) Lockport, and the Tinley Park Bobcats. Oak lawn won the league that year and Troy Premier won the end of the your tourney. In 2008 the Plainfield Raiders won the league and the year end tourney. From humbled beginnings the past two years the I80 has developed from a 8 team 8U Part Time Travel League in to a Full Time Travel League that will have over 155 teams in 2009. We will have 6 age groups for the upcoming 2009 season.

Another strong week for our I-80 teams. Our 11U Plainfield 66ERS took top honors at the Wheaton Briarcliffe Summer Classic. Our 66ers went untouched going 5 and 0 and outscored their opponents 47 to 8. Outstanding! Way to go to the players and to coach Paul Pratt. Our 12u Naperville Renegades National team took first place out in Lynwood IL taking the crown at the Caba Midwest Regional. Our Renegades dominated going 5 an 0 and outscoring their opponents 47 to 8. We are proud of you Renegades. Great Job to all the players and to coach Tom Kolzow. |

Remember report your scores and make up your rainouts games. In the I80 the standings count and have meaning. It is up to all teams to make it work.
